Death becomes her (err, me)

"Renee: At age 68 a truly fanatic fan of your spoken word works will stalk you and torture you for a period of weeks. After refusing to sign any more autographs, the fan will kill you."

Heeeehehe

A little early (otherwise I'll forget)

To Dutchy,

You're the first person to receive a personalised shout out, it seemed appropriate as you are my most avid reader (and comment-er). To my Sensei and co-creator of the Pandy line of nicknames, hope you have a great birthday bash (not to out-do the stag night).

(Can you tell how bored I am?!)

Here we are now, entertain us

Why on EARTH does Europe have to be overcome with rocking festivals all summer long? There are literally 10 I would go to if I a) had money and b) had time off work. So far we've got (potentially)

14th-17th Nashville, Tennessee : TOOL, The Police, White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand, Ben Harper, Wolfmother
15th Live Earth, Hyde Park : Foo Fighters, RHCP, Snow Patrol, Bon Jovi (FUCK YEAH!)
15th-17th Nova Rock Festival, Austria : Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica, MCR, Incubus, The Hives, The Killers, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes
28th - 1st Rock Wercher Brussels, Belguim : Beastie Boys, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, Tori Amos, MCR, Marilyn Manson, Incubus

July

August
24th-26th Reading (I WILL get tickets again!!) : (rumours) RHCP, Smashing Pumpkins, Razorlight

And many, many more that Carol says I'm not allowed to look at anymore cause I'll end up broke and homeless. Party pooper...

I'm baaaack

Hear ye, hear ye! I have had loads of correspondence regarding the lack of posting here lately (no, really). Unless you have been living under a rock you would know I was in Australia for 3 and a half weeks (not NEARLY enough time, but that's not for here) and am currently blogging my little heart out - it's gonna be a doozy.

In the meantime be comforted to hear that I had a brilliant time back home. To those of you I got to visit/hang out/get drunk and silly with I had a fucking blast (!!) and really do miss you. I felt celebrity-like for a while there, but sadly it's back to reality - dreary London and it's surly inhabitants - for now.

Only news to report is that I am now the proud co-owner of a shareroom! That's right.. some lucky soul has won the right to share a 10 x 8m room of love with moi. We're currently on a bed hunt so it's very cosy living at the moment.

Slight reprieve though, I'm off to Manchester this weekend to visit Courts before she goes galavanting through Europe once again, the lucky devil. Azz, Dyl and I are travelling in style after work this Friday... I forsee empty wine bottles and angry bus drivers. Hurrah!

And one last thing.. we humbly welcomed our new housemate Taffee to the Villas on Saturday! It's good to have another male in the midst (and being easy on the eye helps us all get through these cold and dark days). Upon arriving back on Saturday morning it seemed Taff had been more than welcomed into the house debauchery. What have we done...

Pickle me grandmother! (here's one I prepared earlier)

(I just found this half started post written a week after landing. I shall add to this when I can)

Number of days spent in Adelaide? 10
Bottles of Coopers consumed? A six-pack less than a carton
Pints of Pale/Sparkling consumed? More than 15
Champagne? 4 bottles
Jager bombs? Ugh. One.
Food consumed from North Tce after 6am? hotdog and half a sausage roll
Money won at the Cas? minus $4
Beaches visited? 3 (Seacliff, Glenelg, Victor Harbor)
Tim tams? Caramel and black forest. Gone!
Approx weight gain so far? Far too much.

Yes, it's only been a week but my god what a week it has been (to borrow a phrase from Eddie). I now remember why I blocked that initial flight to London from memory. It actually wasn't so bad this time round even though I was on my own (especially since this time I wasn't going with a low cost carrier, I had my own tv screen and free alcohol at my disposal). Heathrow to Singapore was great. I had a spare seat next to me and many vodka's later I was half lying, half sitting across it and 'slept' for about 4 hours, waking up in time for some grub before landing. Singa's to Sydney we had a full house so it was a bit squashy but once again the free vodka's wreaked havoc and I dozed most of the time (and if I wasn't dozing there was endless Cartoon Network at my disposal). The nightmare began at Sydney. I had to proceed through customs then check into the domestic carrier, wait for the transfers bus to take me to the tiny departures hall where I spent 3 hours trying to stay awake. After a few purchases I decided laying on the seats near the sunny window was in order. Eventually the plane to Adelaide arrived and I was finally on my way. After much turbulence and a ride I'd generally rather forget (tired, grumpy, uncomfortable) we decended into Ads. The ladies told us we could get our bags from downstairs. "Excuse me.." I tapped the lady's arm "Since when did Adelaide have a 'downstairs'??". It seems some things do change.
